New Delhi [India], August 24 (ANI): Erling Haaland, the Manchester City and Norway striker, had been sporting his long hair for quite some time, with his hairstyle gaining massive popularity during the FIFA World Cup. Now, Haaland has surprised everyone with a major transformation, cutting off his long locks and opting for a buzz cut.
Recently, Haaland shared pictures and videos in which he could be seen flaunting his new cut.
"Short hair don't care," he captioned the post.
Mixed reactions poured into his new haircut, with some liking the fresh look while others were not too impressed.
In the YouTube clip, his longtime girlfriend Isabel Haugseng Johansen, 22, could be seen in the room and she admitted "I think I will cry" after the long locks are gone," as per New York Post.
She yelped after the first few chunks of hair were cut off and said, "Oh my god", when looking at them in her hands.
When the forward achieved his desired buzz cut, Johansen yelped again when looking at him and put her hands over her mouth in shock.
After several more "Oh my god" reactions, she eventually was pleasantly surprised, saying "It looks nice. You look cute."
Haaland has had a few fine months recently, having reached the quarterfinals in the 2026 FIFA World Cup with Norway on his tournament debut. During the competition, he became a star on and off the field, scoring seven goals and winning over fans with his social media game and a viral rap song that he made a decade back and went #1 in his country on resurfacing during the tournament.
He had a rocky start with Manchester City in the 2026-27 season, losing the FA Community Shield to Arsenal 3-0. In the Premier League, his team started the campaign with a 2-1 win over Bournemouth, which marked his 200th appearance for Man City across all competitions and his 200th appearance across Europe's top 5 leagues (including 67 for Borussia Dortmund in Bundesliga and 133 for Man City in Premier League).
