New Delhi [India], September 29 (ANI): Delhi Deputy Mayor Dr. Monika Pant on Tuesday conducted an inspection of Giridhar Lal Hospital to review the healthcare facilities being provided to patients, availability of medicines, sanitation arrangements, medical services and civil infrastructure.
During the inspection, she issued necessary directions to the hospital administration to ensure patient-friendly services and improved treatment facilities.
During her visit to various sections of the hospital, the Deputy Mayor emphasised the need to maintain high standards of cleanliness and directed the hospital administration to ensure regular monitoring of sanitation arrangements across the premises. She also reviewed the availability of medicines and stressed that essential medicines should be made available to patients on time.
Dr. Monika Pant stated that modern medical machines and equipment based on advanced technology would soon be made available at the hospital with the objective of providing better and more advanced healthcare facilities to patients. She further informed that the process of providing a dialysis machine at the hospital is also being taken forward. Other essential medical equipment will also be made available in a phased manner according to the needs of patients.
The Deputy Mayor informed that around four crore rupees have been allocated for strengthening and improving the civil infrastructure of the hospital. The funds will be utilised for carrying out necessary improvements in the hospital's basic infrastructure and creating a more convenient and better environment for patients and their attendants.
Dr. Monika Pant also interacted with patients and their attendants during the inspection. She sought feedback regarding the facilities available at the hospital, availability of medicines and the treatment being provided to them, and listened to their concerns.
She further informed that a Jan Aushadhi Store is also proposed to be opened at the hospital soon to provide patients with affordable and quality generic medicines. She said that along with expansion of healthcare facilities, easy availability of medicines is also an important component of a patient-centric healthcare system.
The Deputy Mayor directed the hospital administration to accord the highest priority to patients' needs and ensure effective utilisation of available resources. She also directed that sanitation, availability of medicines and treatment-related arrangements be reviewed regularly to ensure continuous improvement in patient care. (ANI)
